Boston shows draw specialist buyers in medtech, life sciences, dental and seafood, in two convention centers run under strict union and safety rules. Design gets you noticed; how the booth is built and installed decides whether it opens on time and on budget.
Your company’s full-time staff can build the booth themselves. Any crew you hire must be signatory to Teamsters Local 25, booked through the official contractor or an approved EAC; outside labor is turned away.
A booth built overseas must cross an ocean, clear customs and often travel under an ATA carnet before Boston drayage even starts. Each step is a date you do not control.
A multi-level booth needs plans signed by a registered architect or engineer at least 90 days before move-in, overhead rigging goes through the venue’s exclusive provider and nothing may be fixed to the building. Learn it late and you pay for the redesign.
TheStandExperts has designed and manufactured exhibition stands for 20 years. For Boston, our office draws your booth, our US partners build and test-assemble it, and at the MCEC or the Hynes a Local 25 crew installs it while our project manager supervises on site. One contact, first sketch to last crate: a true exhibition stand partner.
All formats are available for Boston: custom stands, modular stands, double-decker stands and event stands for Seaport and Back Bay hotel ballrooms.

“Boston is a show town for specialists: medtech, biotech, dental, seafood. Visitors want to see products up close, so the booth must be complete at opening. Partners we trust build it in the US, we photograph every stage, and our project manager is on the floor with the union crew until handover.”

4 questions, a recommendation matched to your venue and budget
Your booth’s format, not its city, sets most of the budget. Our Boston ranges, priced in euros or US dollars, include no ocean crossing; labor, drayage and MCCA services differ by venue and are quoted separately. For the full breakdown, read our exhibition stand costs guide.
| Format | Indicative budget | Best for | Learn more |
|---|---|---|---|
| Modular stand | €600 to €900/m² | Several Boston or US shows a year on one reusable kit | Modular stand |
| Custom stand | €800 to €1,500/m² | A flagship MCEC or Hynes show, premium finishes built to our drawings | Custom stand |
| Double-decker stand | €1,000 to €2,000/m² developed | Upstairs meeting rooms on an island booth, with engineer-signed plans | Double-decker stand |
| Event set-up | On request, per project | Seaport or Back Bay ballroom events, launches, hospitality suites | Event stand |
Indicative ranges for a Boston trade show, excluding floor space. Drayage, Local 25 labor and MCCA services (electrical, rigging, internet) are quoted separately. Some shows, such as Seafood Expo North America, require booth flooring.
Our US partners assemble and photograph your booth before it ships to Boston: you approve the finished piece, not a rendering.
Medtech and dental visitors look closely. Made-to-measure joinery, built-in lighting and large-format graphics built to our drawings stand up to that scrutiny far better than a rental kit.
The booth reaches Boston by road from within the US: no ocean crossing, no customs hold, no ATA carnet between your approval and move-in day.
Seafood Expo in March, Bio-IT World in May, then Chicago or Orlando: the same booth can be refreshed for your next US show.
Twenty years of international shows shaped this method; for Boston it adds MCCA rules and Local 25 labor planning. Still choosing your spot? See how to choose the best location.

Plan on €600 to €900 per m² for a modular booth, €800 to €1,500 per m² for a custom booth and €1,000 to €2,000 per developed m² for a double-decker. Drayage, Local 25 labor and MCCA services vary by show and venue, so we quote them as separate lines. With a US build, the quote has no ocean freight in it.
Count 2 to 4 months for a modular booth and 3 to 6 months for a custom or double-decker booth. Multi-level booths need plans signed by a registered architect or engineer at least 90 days before move-in, and MCCA utilities cost less when ordered and paid 21 days before the show opens.
We build at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC, formerly BCEC) for shows such as The MedTech Conference, Yankee Dental Congress and Seafood Expo North America, and at the Hynes Convention Center for Bio-IT World and BioProcess International. We also work in Seaport and Back Bay hotels.
Your staff may build the booth only if they are full-time employees of your company; any hired labor must come from the official contractor or an approved EAC signatory to Teamsters Local 25. Commercial carriers are unloaded only by the official material handling contractor, which bills drayage, and hand-carry is limited to one item, one time. We book the Local 25 crew and include the drayage estimate in your quote.
A Teamsters Local 25 signatory crew handles installation and dismantling (I&D), supervised throughout by our project manager. We work within your show’s move-in and move-out windows, order MCCA electrical and rigging, and manage the return freight.
Storage between shows can be arranged, so the booth can be refreshed for your next Boston edition or another US show. Reusable elements spread its cost over several events.
Because the people who draw your booth also answer for how it is built. Our design office produces the shop drawings, our US production partners build to them, and you sign off on photos of the assembled booth before move-in. On the floor, our project manager checks the Local 25 crew’s work against those same drawings.
Share your show and your booth size: a project manager will call you with a first design direction and a transparent price within 48 h.
