Whenever we get the chance to talk with exhibitors or companies tempted by the trade show medium, the same questions keep coming up:
Supporting exhibitors is essential to the success of their participation, and in the long run to mastering the trade show medium. Some organisers understand this well and support their exhibitors as best they can, but their position is not ideal for giving the most objective advice.
They can sometimes be suspected of turning well-meaning support into additional add-on sales… So there is room for a form of exhibitor support that combines competence and independence for your trade show participation.
I see myself as a transmitter, someone who passes on knowledge. The trade show medium is rarely taught in school and is usually learned on the job. There is a deliberate, fully assumed teaching dimension in my approach.
If they feel the need, I offer to explain to an exhibitor who uses my services how to manage their project properly: from choosing the right show to handling post-show leads, and everything in between.
On request, I can either manage the project alone as a stand builder, train someone in-house who will become self-sufficient for the next edition, or work alongside an expert project manager on the exhibitor’s side.
A business school graduate who also studied at Sciences Po Toulouse, I started my career in the marketing departments of large companies such as Lafarge and Grohe.
That is where I discovered the world of trade shows. At first I felt lost, having never been trained in this medium, with only the thin legacy left by my predecessors and my academic knowledge to guide me.
Back then I learned how hard the task is when you are not equipped to handle the thousand jobs that taking part in a trade show and managing a stand involve.
